PEO Basic is 79 dollars per employee per month and PEO Plus, which adds health insurance administration and HSA and FSA accounts, is 109. A payroll only plan runs 50 dollars a month base plus 8 per employee.

Support is available around the clock by phone, chat, email and Slack, and reviewers describe getting a competent human quickly. The interface is genuinely simple, which for a founder running HR alongside their real job is the difference between the system being maintained and being abandoned.

Where it frustrates people

You are inside their plan structure. Custom benefit designs, a broker relationship you want to keep, or an unusual carrier are generally not accommodated, and companies that valued that flexibility describe the PEO model as a cage. Leaving is a real project because you are unwinding an employer of record relationship, not cancelling a subscription.

The cost curve turns. At fifteen people the pooled rates are a bargain. At a hundred and fifty, many companies find they can now buy insurance directly on comparable terms and the per employee fee has become the expensive part. Most graduates of Justworks leave for that reason rather than a complaint about the product.
