Everything reads and writes the same employee record. No nightly sync, no reconciliation between the HR system and the payroll system, no arguing about which one is right. For eleven hundred people across nine states that architecture is worth real money and it is genuinely rare.

Beti puts the paycheck in front of the employee before the run closes and asks them to check it. Our post payroll corrections went from a couple of dozen a cycle to almost none, because the person who knows their hours are wrong is the person now looking at them.

Multi state withholding including reciprocity is handled correctly. I watched a previous system get Illinois and Iowa wrong for two quarters and it cost us in amended returns. This has not been wrong once in four years.

Beti cut our payroll corrections to almost none
We replaced an applicant tracking system, an HR system, a payroll provider and a time clock vendor. The integrations between those four were a permanent tax and they are gone.

The sales process was relentless
Several things demonstrated to us behaved differently in our configuration, and the answer was that we needed a module we had not bought. Nothing was technically untrue in the demo. It was not the whole picture either, and I would record the demo next time.

Implementation is a staffed project
The technology is genuinely good and dealing with the company is tiring. Constant outreach to buy more modules, pressure at renewal, and a sense that you are always mid sales cycle even four years in. Both things are true at once and prospective buyers should know that.

There is no published price so you cannot benchmark without doing the work. We got quotes from three competitors first and used them, and I am confident we pay less than a similar company that did not. That is a strange way to buy software.
Pros
