Verdict
Our verdict
QuickBooks Online will tell a contractor whether the company was profitable at the end of the year. Sage 100 Contractor will tell them whether this specific job is profitable this week, with committed costs from purchase orders showing up before the invoice does. That difference is the entire reason contractors migrate, and it is also why so many reviews of this product open with exactly that sentence. QuickBooks remains the right tool for a contractor with no certified payroll and no AIA billing requirement. The moment prevailing wage work or progress billing enters the picture, QuickBooks simply cannot follow and Sage 100 Contractor is the shortlist of one.
