Verdict
Our verdict
These are near opposites. Xero is 20 dollars a month with unlimited users and a reconciliation screen new staff learn in a day. Sage 50 is 128.67 for one user and asks you to sign a year up front. If your team is collaborative and your books are straightforward, Xero's price alone settles it. If you carry serialized inventory or run job costing that Xero's clean interface was never built for, the extra cost buys real capability rather than polish. Few businesses genuinely need both, but the ones that do are usually manufacturers who tried Xero first.
