Nothing else covers this much at this price

Licensing is a fraction of what NetSuite quoted us for a comparable footprint. The implementation was not cheap, but the total over five years is not close.

Pros

Breadth at this price is unmatched by anything else in the category.

Cons

Upgrades between major versions are a project once you have customizations.

Manufacturing and accounting finally agree

The Community edition let us prove it before we spent anything. We self hosted for six months, confirmed it fit, then moved to the hosted plan. Very few vendors in this bracket let you do that.

Pros

Canadian GST, HST and PST are supported natively per province.

Cons

The interface is inconsistent between the older and newer apps.

One database across the whole business

We run accounting, inventory, purchasing, a bill of materials and work orders on one database. The order a rep enters is the record the floor picks and finance books. We used to maintain three systems and two integrations, and every month they disagreed. That is gone.

Pros

Open source, so the code is there when you need to change something.

The interface is inconsistent between the older and newer apps.

Cheap license, expensive project

The subscription looked inexpensive and then the partner quoted five figures to implement, which is normal and was still a surprise. Budget for the project or do not start. The software is not the cost.

Pros

Priced per user rather than per app, so enabling another module costs nothing.

Cons

Upgrades between major versions are a project once you have customizations.

Choose the partner more carefully than the software

Our first partner was poor and we lost four months. The second was excellent. Same software, completely different outcome. The partner is the product here more than anyone admits.

Stranded on an old version

We customized heavily and now upgrading between major versions is quoted as a project we cannot justify. So we sit two versions behind, missing fixes. Customize lightly or accept that upgrades become a recurring capital expense.
