Overview

What is HubSpot CRM?

HubSpot solved the problem that kills most CRM rollouts: reps not using it. The interface is clear enough that a sales team adopts it without a mandate, and the free tier is genuinely usable rather than a demo.

What it does well

Email tracking, meeting scheduling and pipeline management work out of the box with no configuration. Marketing and sales share one contact record, so a rep can see every email, page view and form submission before a call. For a team without a dedicated administrator, this is the practical choice.

The reporting is good enough for most businesses and requires no query building.

Where the cost is

The free CRM is real, and so is the escalator. Marketing Hub prices on marketing contacts, and crossing a tier increases the bill significantly and automatically. Several reviews here describe a bill doubling after a list import that nobody thought about. Understand the contact tiers before you commit, and clean your lists.

Where it frustrates people

Deep customization hits a wall that Salesforce does not have. Annual contracts with up front commitment are standard on paid tiers, and discounts on year one reprice hard at renewal. Onboarding fees on the higher hubs are mandatory and run into the thousands.

The free tier is real

We had failed two CRM rollouts before this. The difference is that nobody had to be told to use HubSpot. It was easier than the spreadsheet, so they used it. Adoption problems are usually interface problems and this is the proof.

Pros

Email tracking, templates and meeting links work with no configuration.

Cons

Onboarding fees on the higher hubs run into the thousands and are not optional.

Our bill doubled after a list import

Imported a conference list of about 4,000 contacts without thinking about it and crossed a marketing contact tier. The bill roughly doubled, automatically, with no confirmation step. The mechanic is documented, it is just not in front of you at the moment you do the thing that triggers it. Clean your lists and check the tier first.

Pros

Adoption is the easiest in this category. Reps use it without being made to.

Onboarding fees on the higher hubs run into the thousands and are not optional.

Marketing and sales finally see the same record

A rep opens a contact and sees every email, every page view and every form submission before the call. That context changed how our calls go and it is the thing I would miss most.

Pros

The free CRM is genuinely usable for unlimited users, not a limited trial.

Deep customization hits a ceiling that Salesforce does not have.

FAQ

We have the answers

Pricing

Is HubSpot CRM really free?

HubSpot CRM has a genuinely free tier, not a trial that expires. Paid plans add more, and there is a free trial on those too. Read the review above for where the free tier stops being enough.

Integrations

What does HubSpot CRM integrate with?

HubSpot CRM connects with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Salesforce, Slack and 3 more. Confirm the specific integration you depend on with a trial account before you commit, since depth varies more than a logo wall suggests.

Local fit

Does HubSpot CRM work for businesses in the US and Canada?

HubSpot CRM serves businesses in both the United States and Canada, and nothing about it is country specific in the way accounting or payroll tools are. Pricing is listed in US dollars, which is the vendor's real list price on both sides of the border.

Reviews

What do users say about HubSpot CRM?

HubSpot CRM holds 4.4 out of 5 across 176 verified reviews, and it scores highest on ease of use. The rating is computed from those reviews and cannot be edited by the vendor. Read the full archive to see the pattern behind the number.
