My bookkeeper learned it in an afternoon

I called on a Tuesday afternoon with a reconciliation question and a person picked up in about ninety seconds, in Ohio, who knew the product. No ticket, no queue, no bot. After years of enterprise support queues I had genuinely forgotten this was possible.

Pros

Simple enough to learn in an afternoon

Cons

You will outgrow it if you scale past a small team

Running payroll and books from one vendor

Bank imports have been reliable for years. I reconcile in about twenty minutes at month end, which used to be most of a Saturday when we were on spreadsheets.

Pros

US based phone support that answers quickly

Cons

Effectively no mobile experience

My bookkeeper learned it in an afternoon

The reports are plain and they are all included. Profit and loss, balance sheet, aging, trial balance, and my accountant takes the export without complaint. Nothing is held back for a higher tier.

Pros

US based phone support that answers quickly

Cons

No multi currency and no Canadian support

Six years and the price barely moved

Twenty dollars a month, unlimited invoices, unlimited customers, unlimited vendors. No per user surcharge, no client count tier, no upsell when I want to run a report. I run a nine person landscaping company and this is the first accounting product that felt like it was priced for me.

Pros

Twenty dollars a month with no per user charge

Running payroll and books from one vendor

My bookkeeper came from QuickBooks and was up to speed in an afternoon. There is not much to learn because there is not much there, and that is the point. Everything we need is one or two clicks deep.

It does not try to become a platform

We use their payroll too, which is the real reason we are here. One vendor, one login, one support number for both. When a payroll entry needed correcting against the books, the same person fixed both sides on one call.

Pros

Payroll available from the same vendor and support team

No multi currency and no Canadian support

Exactly the software a small shop needs

It does the standard things correctly and stops. No dashboard I did not ask for, no AI assistant, no marketing module. I wanted accounting software and I got accounting software.

Unlimited invoices, customers and vendors on both tiers

US only, which we found out late

We took on a Canadian client and discovered there is no multi currency and no Canadian support of any kind. For a US only business that is a non issue and it ended our ability to grow the way we wanted.

The moment we started carrying inventory we discovered there is none. Not thin, absent. We track stock in a spreadsheet alongside it, which works at our size and would not at twice our size.
