Everyone has a login because seats are free

We customized heavily and then went through two major version upgrades without a rebuild. Anyone who has been stranded two versions behind on an ERP because upgrading meant redoing every modification will understand why that is the sentence that matters most in this review.

Field techs work offline and sync later

Our receiving team scans directly into it on tablets on the dock. Because logins are free we did not have to decide who was worth a licence, and inventory accuracy went from roughly ninety one percent to over ninety nine.

Construction edition does AIA billing properly

No per user licence means the warehouse supervisor, both shift leads and every project manager have their own login. Under our old ERP we had shared accounts because seats were four figures each, which was terrible for the audit trail and we did it anyway. That problem simply does not exist here.

Pros

Unlimited users with no per seat licence cost

The partner is the experience again

Acumatica does not implement its own product and our outcome tracked our partner exactly. Ours was excellent and specialised in distribution. I have heard the other version of this story from a peer and it is a different company on the same software.

A real API rather than a file drop

Landed cost including freight and duty lands on the item, so our margins are actually our margins. We were allocating freight annually in a spreadsheet and were wrong all year, every year.

The Construction edition handles AIA G702 and G703 progress billing, retainage on both sides and job costing properly. We evaluated three products that claimed construction support and only this one did it without a bolt on.

The warehouse floor uses it directly

Our field service techs work in areas with no signal. The mobile app holds work offline and syncs when they are back, which was a hard requirement that eliminated two other vendors.

Unlimited users, metered consumption

Finding people who already know Acumatica is harder than finding NetSuite or Dynamics experience. We hired a controller who had never seen it and lost about two months to ramp. The add on ecosystem is thinner too.

Reporting is powerful and takes learning

Unlimited users is the headline and consumption is the meter. Our transaction volume grew faster than our headcount and our tier moved twice in three years. For a business with high volume and few people the model can work against you, so model your own numbers rather than assuming it is cheaper.
