Importing eleven hundred assets from our old schedule took a week of cleanup because the template is unforgiving and the errors it gives you are not specific. Once it was in, it has been flawless. Getting it in was miserable.

It knows the tax rules so I do not have to
Separate books for GAAP and tax from one asset record is the entire reason to buy this. Before, we kept two schedules and they disagreed by a few thousand dollars every single year and nobody could say why.

We have assets in both the US and Canada, and having MACRS and CCA in one system with one asset register was the deciding factor. Everything else we looked at meant two products.

We ran depreciation in Excel for nine years and I always half suspected it was wrong. It was. The first reconciliation after we moved found errors going back four years. This product paid for itself in the first month just by being right.

Section 179 limits and bonus depreciation change constantly and I no longer track it. Sage updates the tax content and the calculation is simply correct. That is worth the maintenance fee on its own.

Interface has not moved in a decade
I understand it is a mature product but the interface has genuinely not changed in ten years. Onboarding anyone new means sitting with them for a full day, and that cost is real even if it does not appear on the invoice.

Worth it above a certain asset count
If you have fifty assets, keep your spreadsheet and spend the money elsewhere. We have about eleven hundred and it is essential. There is a threshold and you should be honest with yourself about which side of it you are on.
