At twelve people it fits us well. I am not sure what happens at thirty, because the customization and automation are noticeably lighter than the market. We may find the ceiling and I have not found it yet.
Pros
Works inside the Gmail sidebar rather than as a separate destination
Cons
Expensive against Pipedrive and Freshsales on features alone
Ease of use

Thank you for the feedback. Copper is built specifically for teams working in Google Workspace and we understand it is not the right fit once an organization moves to another platform. We would welcome the chance to discuss your experience.

Contacts appear without anyone adding them
My team lives in Gmail and Calendar all day. Putting the CRM in the sidebar rather than in another tab is a small sounding decision that turned out to be the whole product. Nobody has to remember anything.
Pros
Contacts and activity capture themselves from email and calendar
Cons
Expensive against Pipedrive and Freshsales on features alone

It lives in Gmail so people actually use it
It suggests contacts from people I am already emailing, so the database builds itself. I came from a system where a rep had to create a contact record manually, and about half of them never did.
Pros
Works inside the Gmail sidebar rather than as a separate destination
Cons
Basic caps at three users so most teams pay for Professional

We are a twelve person design agency and our pipeline is thirty real relationships, not three thousand leads. Copper fits that shape exactly. Products built for high volume outbound would drown us in fields we do not need.

Adoption succeeds where previous CRM rollouts failed

The third CRM we tried and the first that stuck
Calendar integration means meetings attach themselves to the right opportunity, so the account history is complete without anyone maintaining it. Our handovers stopped losing context.

Pointless if you are not on Google Workspace
Our parent company moved us to Microsoft 365 and Copper stopped making sense overnight. The entire reason to pay the premium is the Gmail integration, and without it you are paying agency prices for an ordinary CRM. We migrated within four months.

Native Google Workspace application with shared permissions

We failed at two CRM rollouts before this. Both died the same way, which is that nobody entered data. Copper is inside Gmail, so logging an email is not a task, it has already happened. Adoption was immediate and it has stayed that way for three years.

The price rose and the product did not
We have three people on Outlook and their experience is clearly second class. The sidebar is less capable and syncing is less reliable. If any meaningful part of your team is on Microsoft, this is the wrong product.

Administration runs through Google Workspace rather than a separate user directory. When someone leaves, removing their Google account handles it. That is one less system for me to remember.
