Set up in an afternoon, no admin needed

We failed at Salesforce and succeeded here, and the difference is that Pipedrive tells a rep what to do next instead of asking them to file paperwork. Every deal has a next action or it nags. Our pipeline is accurate for the first time.

Pros

Reps adopt it, which is the failure point for most CRM rollouts.

Cons

Complex sales with territories, approvals and quote rules will hit a ceiling.

Great CRM, you will buy other tools

If you want marketing automation, buy something else or add a tool. Pipedrive is a sales pipeline and it is honest about that. We run Mailchimp alongside it, which is fine, but it is a second bill.

Pros

The visual pipeline is the clearest in this category.

Cons

Complex sales with territories, approvals and quote rules will hit a ceiling.

It does one thing and does it properly

Deals stopped going quiet. The activity model surfaces anything without a next step, so nothing sits untouched for three weeks anymore.

Setup takes hours and needs no administrator.

Cons

Reporting is adequate but shallow at the top end.

It does one thing and does it properly

I configured it myself in an afternoon. No consultant, no admin, no project plan. Six months in we have not needed to change much, which suggests the defaults were right.

Pros

The mobile app is genuinely usable for a rep in the field.

Cons

It is not a marketing platform. Campaigns and nurture are another tool.

It is a pipeline, not a platform

Reporting covers the basics well and then stops. For our sales manager that is enough. Our CFO wanted cohort analysis and we export to a spreadsheet for that.

The mobile app is genuinely usable for a rep in the field.

Cons

It is not a marketing platform. Campaigns and nurture are another tool.

Our reps stopped hating the CRM

The visual pipeline is the clearest I have used. Our sales manager runs the Monday meeting straight off the board with no prep.

Customization is limited compared with Zoho or Salesforce.
