The right amount of tool

We track our hiring pipeline on the free tier. Candidates move across the board, everyone sees where things stand, and it costs nothing. A dedicated recruiting tool would cost hundreds a month to do the same job worse.

Pros

Butler automation is more capable than it first appears.

Cons

There is no meaningful cross project reporting.

Free tier runs our whole hiring pipeline

I introduced it on a Tuesday and the warehouse team was using it correctly by Thursday. No training session, no manual. For a team that had rejected every previous tool, that is the entire review.

Pros

Perfect for a defined flow: hiring, a content calendar, a punch list.

Cons

It will not scale with a growing team, and you will have to move.

Perfect small, useless large

Once a board passes about 200 cards, finding anything is a chore and the board becomes a wall. That is the moment to move to something else rather than fight it.

Pros

Perfect for a defined flow: hiring, a content calendar, a punch list.

Cons

Free workspaces cap at 10 collaborators.

It is deliberately simple and that is why it works. Every time I have been tempted by something more powerful I remember that people actually use this one.

Perfect small, useless large

It does not do reporting across projects and it does not do dependencies. Those are not oversights, they are the product's position. If you need them, this is the wrong tool and no Power-Up will really fix it.
