Proofing ended the email thread with nine attachments
Work used to arrive by email, chat and someone stopping by a desk, always missing half the brief. Now every request goes through a form that will not submit without what we need, and it creates the project from a blueprint with tasks, owners and dates already there. The first three weeks are genuinely hard
Compared with monday.com it looks like a tool for professionals rather than something designed to delight. Some of our team read that as cold. It is also why it survives complexity, so I take the trade.

Blueprints mean a new campaign launches with the same twenty two tasks, the same dependencies and the same owners every time. Our newer producers do not have to remember the process because the process arrives with the project.

Custom item types let us model a campaign, a deliverable and an asset as different things with different fields. Forcing all of that into a generic task was what made our old tool feel wrong.

Support took nine days on a blocking issue
The default notification volume is relentless. Half my team had muted it within three weeks, which defeats the point entirely. It is configurable and the defaults train people to ignore the tool before they discover that.

Proofing is why our creative team stopped hating project software. Stakeholders mark up the artwork directly, comments attach to a specific version, approvals are recorded. We used to run reviews over email with nine attachments and no idea which was current.
