Beti cut our payroll corrections to almost none

Everything reads and writes the same employee record. No nightly sync, no reconciliation between the HR system and the payroll system, no arguing about which one is right. For eleven hundred people across nine states that architecture is worth real money and it is genuinely rare.

Beti employee payroll review that measurably cuts corrections

One database means one version of a person

Our time rules involve union schedules, shift differentials and premium overtime. Paycom expresses all of it. Two other vendors in the evaluation told us we would need a workaround.

Pros

Replaces several systems and the integrations between them

No published pricing, so every buyer negotiates blind

It replaced four systems and two integrations

Multi state withholding including reciprocity is handled correctly. I watched a previous system get Illinois and Iowa wrong for two quarters and it cost us in amended returns. This has not been wrong once in four years.

Complex time rules it can actually express

We replaced an applicant tracking system, an HR system, a payroll provider and a time clock vendor. The integrations between those four were a permanent tax and they are gone.

Beti puts the paycheck in front of the employee before the run closes and asks them to check it. Our post payroll corrections went from a couple of dozen a cycle to almost none, because the person who knows their hours are wrong is the person now looking at them.

Support quality fell off a cliff

I have never experienced sales pressure like it. Calls to my mobile, calls to colleagues who are not decision makers, and a discount that expired every Friday and then reappeared. We bought anyway because the product is good, and the process left a taste that four years has not removed.

We appreciate the detail here. Implementation scope and pricing should be clear before any agreement is signed, and we are sorry that was not your experience. Please contact us so we can review what happened.

I can report on a requisition through to a hire, through to their pay and performance history, in one query. When we ran systems for each stage that question genuinely could not be answered.

Implementation is a staffed project

The technology is genuinely good and dealing with the company is tiring. Constant outreach to buy more modules, pressure at renewal, and a sense that you are always mid sales cycle even four years in. Both things are true at once and prospective buyers should know that.

Getting out took most of a year

Support was responsive during implementation and has been poor since. Tickets sit, the representative changes without notice, and getting to someone who understands a complex payroll question takes escalation and days. For a system running payroll for eleven hundred people that is the wrong risk profile.

Implementation fees were not in the first number

The implementation fee was quoted after we had agreed the per employee rate and it was a substantial percentage of the annual subscription. It is apparently standard. It was not in the number I took to my board and that was an uncomfortable meeting.
